These pictures were taken by Culver’s sports photographer George Laase!

This picture appears to show the ball in, as you look at the opponents position, eyes, etc.  But where the ball ultimately ends up is shown next.  Who’s to say what occurred in between these frames?

This picture captured the essence of this season for our boys in blue.  As you look at the picture, click to zoom in and look at the goal line.  A frozen moment of time tells a tale for an entire season.  Our lads on the pitch never backed down a single instant or hung their heads; they had the heart of a lion to fight till the end.  This is their legacy of 2010.

They worked so hard and were complemented time and again for their skilled play, but it wasn’t meant to be their year.  Still we thank our seniors who played their heart out for Culver one last time against Beverly dropping a 2-1 heart breaker.  A magnificent goal by Michael Castillo in the upper right led a spirited comeback attempt in the second half.  With a revamped 4-5-1 lineup with senior Nikko Sanchez playing forward, senior captains Andrew Gomez and Michael Castillo, senior winger Eric Espeleta holding the middle, and seniors keepers Ivan Aquino and Miguel Ramirez Romo in the net, led an exciting second half that kept our hopes alive till the final whistle ended their season forever.

But as outgoing senior Nikko Sanchez summed it up, “Our team next year will be very good… and they have the desire.”  We thank our seniors for imparting that spirit for the future!

Go Big Blue!  Go City Soccer!
